This Privacy Policy explains how Plan A Wedding (“Plana,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you visit plana.wedding or purchase our planning checklist.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide directly:
- Wedding planning data — names, wedding date, guest-count band, budget band, ceremony style, region, planning style. Stored locally on your device unless you share it.
- Email address — when you subscribe to the lead magnet, complete a purchase, or contact us.
- Payment details — processed by Stripe. We never see or store full card numbers; we receive only a record of the completed transaction (last 4 digits, country, brand).
- Task progress — which checklist tasks you have marked complete. Stored locally on your device.
Information collected automatically:
- Usage analytics via Microsoft Clarity (page views, clicks, scroll depth, anonymized session recordings). Clarity may capture form-field interactions but is configured to redact text input by default.
- Server logs — IP address, user agent, and request timestamps, retained for security and debugging up to 30 days.
- License tokens — after purchase, a signed JWT license is stored in your browser's localStorage to unlock your plan on that device.
2. How we use your information
- Deliver the planning checklist personalized to your date.
- Process payments and email you the activation link after purchase.
- Send transactional emails (purchase receipts, license activation, and the free critical-path email when you opt in).
- Improve the product through aggregate analytics and session recordings.
- Respond to support requests and prevent fraud or abuse.
3. Third-party processors
We use a small set of vetted third parties to operate the service. Each has its own privacy policy:
- Stripe (payment processing) — stripe.com/privacy
- Brevo (transactional + marketing email) — brevo.com/legal/privacypolicy
- Microsoft Clarity (analytics + session recording) — privacy.microsoft.com/privacystatement
- DigitalOcean (hosting) — digitalocean.com/legal/privacy-policy
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers.
4. Cookies and local storage
We use first-party localStorage to save your planning data and license token on your device. We use Microsoft Clarity cookies for analytics. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
5. Your rights
Depending on where you live (GDPR, CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal information we hold about you. To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected] with the subject line “Privacy request.” We respond within 30 days.
6. Data retention
- Purchase records — retained for 7 years for tax and accounting purposes.
- Email subscriber lists — retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion.
- Server logs — 30 days.
- Analytics data — Clarity retains session recordings for 90 days and aggregate metrics for up to 2 years.
7. Security
We use TLS in transit, encrypted env-var storage at rest, and HMAC-signed license tokens. Despite reasonable safeguards, no transmission over the Internet is fully secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children
Plana is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance.
