Calling an Amalfi wedding a 'beach wedding' undersells it: the coastline is mostly vertical, and the real magic happens on lemon-tree terraces carved into the cliffs between Positano, Ravello, and Amalfi town. That elevation is actually the aesthetic advantage — guests sit facing the Tyrrhenian Sea with pastel villages stepping down the hillside behind them, a composition no flat beachfront can replicate.

The region's signature palette (citrus yellow, ceramic blue and white, bougainvillea pink) is already so photogenic that most couples lean into it rather than import a theme. Venue archetypes split cleanly: historic cliffside villas in Ravello (most formal, highest capacity), garden estates and lemon groves in Sorrento and Massa Lubrense (more relaxed, better-priced), and hotel-based ceremonies in Positano (easiest logistically, tightest space).

Plan around two realities: the coastal road is notoriously slow — 10 km can take 45 minutes in season — so guest transport and timing windows need real attention, and peak summer (mid-July through August) brings both heat and cruise-ship crowds. Late May, June, and September deliver identical light and temperatures in the low-to-mid 70s°F with far better venue access and a noticeable drop in vendor pricing.
